With this project, APAMETAL diversifies its business area and enters the health area with the presentation of new individual protection products on the market.

The project allows the creation of industrial capacity for the production of new products – protective equipment – for the health area, such as Visors and Protective Goggles, essential to guarantee the health and safety of citizens, health professionals, security elements and help.

The company’s production capacity was previously 3,000 units/week for eyeglasses and 10,000 units/week for visors. With the present project, it will increase for the case of glasses by 3 times and for the visors by 10 times, due to the automation of processes and increase in capacity. A cost reduction of around 40% is expected when compared to the current situation.

This new business area with the mentioned production capacity will represent around 30% of the company’s turnover.

APAMETAL was the first company to obtain production authorization from ASAE, allowing it to gain a competitive advantage over other companies, diversify its business area, increase turnover, and increase exports through CE certification. of the products. No less important is the fact that the existence of national companies producing this type of equipment allows the National Health System access to a diversified offer of products, reducing the ratio of imports and consequently reducing Portugal’s dependence on to other countries, with regard to this type of equipment.
